First season with Joe Gibbs Racing was career year with improvements in nearly every statistical category, including his best-ever points ranking. First pole, at Chicagoland-2. Career-best average start of 11.5. Tied career-best finish, third, at Chicagoland-2. Career-best average finish of 16.2. Career-best 20 lead-lap finishes. Completed 91.3 percent of laps attempted. Average Driver Rating 83.7.
2010: Finished 14th in series points. Ran first 28 races for owner Todd Braun, finished season for owner Robby Benton. Led rookie of the year standings through season's latter stages, but was overtaken by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for the award. One top-five, 10 top-10 finishes in first full series season. Best finish, third, came at Chicagoland. Best start was third twice, at Auto Club-1 and Iowa.
2009: Finished 64th in series points. Competed in seven races, five for Braun Racing, two for CJM Racing. Best finish (14th) and start (eighth) came at Kansas where he posted a 94.8 Driver Rating. Added another top-10 start, 10th, at Richmond-1. Made series debut in April at Nashville, finished 25th after qualifying 24th.

In 2011, for second consecutive season, competed solely in NASCAR Nationwide Series. In 2009, finished seventh in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings. First NASCAR national series win at Dover was included among seven top fives, 13 top 10s. Also matched his best series start, third, at Nashville; finished second. Finished 16th in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings, collecting two top-five and seven top-10 finishes. Second to Colin Braun in battle for rookie of the year. In 2007, finished 40th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rankings. Debuted at New Hampshire and had two 15th-place finishes among seven races. Raced mini-sprints at age 12 in Idaho; wins came quickly with his biggest coming in the Pepsi Shootout. ... Competed in 360 and 410 sprint cars in 2005 when his final two races produced a victory and a second-place in the coveted 360 Nationals at Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Wash., and the "Budweiser 360 Series" Rookie of the Year Award. ...
