Trevor Bayne did OK putting the controversy from the Talladega Sprint Cup race behind him, scoring his first Nationwide Series race at Texas last weekend.
So how does he handle success? We'll find out this Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway, which hosts the Nationwide Series Wypall 200.

Submit photos, videos"We try not to feed off the negative things, and we know we're going to be back to a positive day," Bayne said of Talladega, where he was roundly criticized for abandoning the draft of Jeff Gordon late in the race. "With that said, when we do have good days, we do ride that a little bit more."
Interestingly, Phoenix also was the next race after Bayne won the Daytona 500 in February. But he hopes to do better this time, as he crashed in both Cup and Nationwide races there after his popular Daytona victory. (Watch: Cup crash | NNS crash)
"I finally got my first career Nationwide Series win at Texas last weekend, so I am ready to ride that momentum into Phoenix this weekend," Bayne said. "I feel like we have another fast car for this race and I am looking forward to competing against the best in the series.
"As a team, our confidence is sky high right now and I am pretty sure we are going to stay aggressive with our strategy going into this race. It's all about putting ourselves in position to win races and I think we have finally figured out how to do that on a consistent basis."
Staying aggressive is a message crew chief Chad Norris has tried to instill in Bayne recently. Norris has even had Bayne watching film of past races, getting him to work on his driving style much the same way a football coach has a player watch film to study himself.
"That's been important," Bayne said, "and I've been able to [apply] it to every track."
Norris' message at Texas was to have a "sense of urgency." Bayne had it at the end of the race, battling past teammate Carl Edwards to win on a late restart. That's just how Bayne won a short-track race at Myrtle Beach, S.C., four years ago, when he restarted fourth on a green-white-checkered finish.
"That's one that's always stood out in my head," Bayne said. "That's the driver that I want everybody to know I can be, that I can go get it done at the end."
And that's what Norris wants out of Bayne in the final two races of the season.
"We need to continue to do that to finish the season on a high note," Norris said. "I believe in Trevor and I believe in our team. It was only a matter of time before we put it all together."
Now, they hope to do it again.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. could possibly clinch the Nationwide Series championship this weekend by leaving Phoenix with a 48-point lead over Elliot Sadler.
-- In order for this to happen, Stenhouse would need to gain 31 points on Sadler, who currently trails him by 17 points.
It's statistically possible that Joe Gibbs Racing and the No. 18 Toyota can clinch the Nationwide owners' title over Roush Fenway Racing and the No. 60 Ford.
-- For that to happen, the No. 18 (driven this week by Joey Logano) must win the race and lead the most laps while the No. 60 (driven by Carl Edwards) would have to finish last.
Currently JGR holds a two-point lead over Roush Fenway in the owners' standings.
• Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has led the point standings following the past 12 races, the longest streak this season by more than twice as many races; overall, he has led the points following 15 races, the most this season. Note: The driver leading the point standings with two races remaining has won the championship in all but one of the 29 Nationwide Series seasons.
• Elliott Sadler has top-10 finishes in 10 of the past 11 races.
• Trevor Bayne has top-10 finishes in the past four races.
• Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski have finished 1-2 in four races this season, including three of the past five.
• Clint Bowyer (entered in the No. 33 of Kevin Harvick Inc.) has finished in the top four in four of his eight starts this season, including the past three; his worst start of 2011 is ninth at Bristol in August.
• Danica Patrick finished 11th in her return to the series last week, her fourth finish of 11th or better in 10 starts this season.
• Aric Almiorla has finished outside the top 10 in the past four races after having nine top-10s in the previous 10 races.
• Sam Hornish Jr. (entered in the No. 12 Dodge of Penske Racing) has four career NNS top-10 finishes, all in his past eight starts.
• Brian Scott has top-12 finishes in seven of the past nine races, including both of his top-fives this season (top-fives have come in the past five races).
• The driver leading the most laps has won five of the past seven races (and 15 of the 32); the winner has led 10 laps or less in nine races this season, including four where they led only the final lap.
